Jimmy Lake '95
professional football coach
Jimmy Lake was a standout football player at North Central High School and Eastern Washington University. As a strong safety for the Eastern Eagles from 1995-1998, he earned All-Big Sky Academic honors and honorable mention accolades as a senior. He graduated from EWU in 2000 with a degree in Business Administration.
Jimmy started coaching at Eastern as an undergraduate assistant in 1999 and then as a secondary coach for the 2000-2003 seasons. He then went to the University of Washington for the 2004 season to coach cornerbacks and nickel backs. The Huskies secondary ranked first in the Pacific 10 Conference and seventeenth in the nation that season.
In 2005 Jimmy moved to Montana State, where he helped the Bobcats finish the season as the Big Sky Conference’s top ranked defense.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought Jimmy onboard in 2006 as the assistant defensive backs coach. He spent two seasons with Tampa Bay before moving to the Detroit Lions in 2008. Jimmy returned to Tampa Bay in 2010 as the Buccaneers head defensive backs coach.
